Victoria Kann was born in New York, New York and currently lives in Westport Connecticut. Kann was asked in an interview how old she was she responded, “I am old enough to be a wise woman and young enough to fall off my chair laughing over very silly things. That is why I have carpeting on my floor. Only my mother and the government know how old I am. I stopped counting when I celebrated my 31st birthday. All I can say: I am the perfect age.”
Kann spends most of her time at her home where she does all of her work. She has a wonderful workspace that she describes as a white room with a big desk, two computers, many books to inspire her, and a fireplace. The ideas of Kanns’ books come from her inspiration from her own daughters, who are two girls who love cupcakes, dress up, playing princess, have vibrant imaginations, and love all things pink.
Pinkalicious which was her first book was not meant to become a book it was actually an April Fools’ joke that she had sent to her friends and family telling everyone about her daughter who had turned pink after eating too many pink cupcakes. Because of the positive and concerned feedback she got from the April Fools’ joke she then turned it into the book Pinkalicious.
